DESIGN

REMONTOWA Group has long history of tugs building in his subsidiary companies Northern Shipyard and Stal-Rem.
The first tug was delivered to the WUZ-Port and Maritime Services Ltd in April 2001 and was called Taurus. It has 35 ton bollard pull. Due to high level of satisfaction the same client ordered another vessel but more stronger. In January 2009 he received a new tug called Virtus with 55 bollard pull.
The vessel is powered by two CAT main engines - each 1765 kW, and two SCHOTTEL rudder propellers both giving more than 56 ton bollard pull and 12,6 knots speed. The vessel's electric network is supplied by two 108 kVA generator sets.
The tug is equipped with one towing winch with 150 kN pulling force with automatic tensioning and towing tension monitoring systems. The winch is locally and remote controlled. This winch together with two anchor winches as well as a capstan are hydraulically powered from a common power pack in the machinery room.
All accommodations, wheelhouse as well as control room are air-conditioned
