The “Polish Offshore Wind Sector Deal” was signed in Warsaw on 15 September by government administration representatives and key offshore wind sector stakeholders.
The main objective of the Agreement is to support development of the sector in Poland and to maximise local content, i.e. the participation of Polish entrepreneurs in the supply chain for offshore wind farms created in the Polish exclusive economic zone and to determine development directions for the offshore wind energy sector in Poland.
In accordance with the adopted assumptions, the signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding will strive for, among others, the highest possible involvement of Polish companies in the execution of the investments, with the share and the goal of the so-called local content at the level of 20-30% of the total value of the projects executed in the first phase, at least 45% for the projects implemented by 2030, and at least 50% for the projects executed after 2030.
They undertook, among other things, to provide Polish seaports with facilities for the execution of offshore wind energy investments, to educate personnel for the offshore sector and to use the potential of the Polish shipbuilding industry for the execution of offshore wind energy projects.
Shipbuilding sector is a natural supplier of some of the key elements and tools for construction, installation and operation of offshore wind farms.
