Remontowa Shipbuilding SA launched the next PSV

REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING SA launched the next PSV, the supply vessel to the offshore industry in a long series that performs for a variety of clients. This time the vessel is designed for one of the largest Scottish ship-owners operating Offshore Support Vessel type in the North Sea. The ship will operate as a supply functions bulk shipping cargo, liquid and general cargo. She will also be equipped to fight fires and oil spills collection.

Deck area of more than 1000 sq. m., 5100 t cargo capacity and speed 14.3 at rated draft node ranks among the largest unit of PSV vessels that will operate in deep waters and harsh weather conditions of the North Sea. The vessel will be equipped with a Diesel Electric propulsion consists of four generators producing a total power of 6800 kWe. DP2 class – the ship dynamic positioning system will allow operation of the ship, even in the harshest weather conditions.
The vessel will be built according to the requirements of classification societies and will be covered by the certificate “CLEAN DESIGN” and will complete classifier performance standards, which is ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) to obtain the so-called “GREEN PASSPORT”. This means that the ship’s structure does not use potentially harmful materials to human health or the environment.
After launching a new build partly outfitted with vessel systems hull, start of the stage equipment of devices and machineries, also the energy network cabling and signaling, transport of goods and the end does not mean the least important, the accommodation part of the crew and passengers. The culmination of the entire production process will startup all systems and equipment, and to carry out dock trials and tests in the yard at the quayside and sea trials, which fully confirm the parameters and vessel’s particulars according to contract and operational capabilities of the vessel.
Conceptual design and all technical documentation is provided by Polish design office MMC Ship Design & Consulting Ltd., Gdynia – one of the leaders in the creation of this type of construction. This is tailor made version of the MMC 887CD, because such a label carries this unit and the symbol will appear on the ship side during its operation life. This symbol will always be present on the sides of ships operating in the North Sea and thus contribute to our Polish presence there.
